"Stop it now, or I'll be getting mad"
"No, you must not do this, must do that"
"You know all the trouble that you always make-
Sometimes I think you're just not worth it- for heaven's sake"
"You might be seventeen now- but for as long, as you are living here with me,
You will abide to my rules- and don't you dare to disagree."
You caught a butterfly, and now you're trying hard to keep her down,
To keep her small, dependent on your mercy, let her drown.
Limiting her world to just a cage, when she is dreaming of a million things,
It's so small, so narrow, there's no space to stretch her wings.
"With that attitude of yours, you'll end up on the street",
"There's just no getting by with you, I pitty those you'll meet."
"You'll never see how wrong you are, up till the very end."
"No wonder you will never have a single friend."
"If this is how you treat me- don't you bother coming home-
And don't you say I haven't told you, when you die alone."
You caught a butterfly, and now you're trying hard to keep her down,
To keep her small, dependent on you mercy, let her drown.
Broken are the wings, that she was meant to grow, her spirit broken by your lie-
It seems, like she might never learn to fly.
"You manage to mess up everything you lay your hands upon"-
"Can it really be that difficult?- Come on!"
"Oh, Look at that pathetic girl- just try not to stab any of us-
If someone hired you, I have to say, they would have to be nuts."
"Just so you know- abortion might have been the best solution for you, honestly,
You're turning out as nothing, but a burden on society."
You caught a butterfly, and now you're trying hard to keep her down,
To keep her small, dependent on your mercy, let her drown.
Yet, she is slowly healing, day by day, is gradually growing stronger.
One day, she'll take of, you won't be able to prevent it any longer.
